Effective July 1, 1960 a temporary license for 120 days will be issued to all applicants for an agent's license, provided the applicant has resided within the State for at least 12 months immediately prior to making application therefor. This procedure is designed to take care of the immediate situation until such time as the examination details can be perfected. At that time, further instructions will be mailed out.
Study manuals are in the process of being compiled and printed, and will not be available for at least 60 days. The cost has not yet been determined, but should approximate $2.00 per book.
Non-resident agents applying for a permanent non-resident agent's license
in Mississippi will be granted a license without an examination, provided
the state of said applicant's former license grants waiver of examination
to former Mississippi residents desiring license in that State; and provided
further that no complaints have been registered against the agent in his
home state. In the event a reciprocal agreement is not reached with
the state of the applicant's former residence, a special examination will
be given covering various phases of life insurance. No study manual
will be available, nor should one be needed, assuming applicant has held
a license in another state.
