COUNTY CORONER/MEDICAL EXAMINER
 
96-003-E     An individual elected coroner may not serve as a deputy sheriff for the county he serves as coroner. Violation of 25-4-105(3)(a). [10, 11, 13]
96-005-E     A county may contract with the brother of the county's elected coroner to transport bodies for autopsies. [9, 10, 11, 31]
96-019-E     An ambulance service which has the county coroner as an employee and/or a partner may not contract with the county because there are two or fewer ambulance services in the county. The exception set forth in the Code Section 25-4-105(4)(d)(i) does not limit a good or service reasonably available from two (2) or fewer commercial sources" to a specific geographical area such as a county. [10]
96-088-E     An individual elected constable may not serve as a deputy coroner for the county which he was elected to serve as constable. [10, 11, 16]
96-148-E     An alderman may simultaneously be employed as a deputy medical examiner investigator/coroner for the county in which the municipality the alderman serves is located. This is providing there are no contracts existing between the county and municipality in which the alderman would have a private pecuniary interest or an inherent interest.
