95-001-E A county may lease office space for use by the circuit iudge and court administrator from the brother of the circuit judge provided the circuit judge has no financial interest in and receives no pecuniary benefit from the leasing of the office. [9, 14, 27, 28, 31]
95-005 -E The spouse of a sheriff may be appointed by the county/youth court judge as the county court administrator in the same county in which the sheriff serves as an elected official, and serve in that position. [13, 27, 28, A]
95-013-E 1. A county may pay the office telephone and utility costs for the court administrator's office when the office space and related furnishings are owned by the circuit judge, as long as the telephone and utility services are in the name of the court administrator's office and are used solely for court administrator duties.

93-181-E A Justice Court Judge may not contract with the county to input data into one or more computers bought by the county for the office of the Justice Court Judge.
93-231-E A county may not contract with a tire repair business owned by a Justice Court Judge.
92-003-E The spouse of a city attorney may be appointed a city judge of the same city.
92-022-E A justice court judge may appoint an attorney with whom she was formerly employed to represent persons before her court.
92-081-E The spouse of a county prosecuting attorney may be appointed by a county court judge to be a director of a federally funded program.
91-009-E An elected justice court judge may simultaneously become a part-time employee of a department of the state. Caution: 25-4-105(1).
91-044-E 1. A city councilman who is a teacher with the city's school system should not vote to confirm an appointment to the city school board. Reference 86-16-E.
2. A city councilman whose wife is a teacher with the city's school system should not vote to confirm an appointment (or related issue) to the city school board. Reference 86-16-E.
3. A city councilman may simultaneously serve as a probation and parole officer. Caution: 25-4-105(1).
4. A city councilman may serve in that position when her husband is a county prosecuting attorney sharing office space with the city prosecuting attorney.
5. A city judge, appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council, may not represent council members as to their actions involving their service on the council. Violation: 25-4-105(3)(a).
91-138-E An attorney may simultaneously serve as a municipal judge, county youth court referee, and attorney for a county board of supervisors.
89-01-E Counties within a judicial district may not furnish funds to a court administrator for office rent when the funds are thereafter paid to the owner/renter of the real/personal property who is the circuit judge nor may the judge order the county to pay the rent. Violations of 25-4-105(1) and (3)(a).
89-07-E 1. A chancery judge may not own an interest in a business which sells book binding services and supplies to the chancery clerks within his district. Violation of 25-4-105(3)(a).
2. A blind trust will not prevent a violation of the conflict of interest laws if it does not remove the "material financial interest" of the chancery judge or of a "relative".
3. A process whereby proceeds of a blind trust fund flow to dependent children of the chancery judge would not survive an application of the conflict of interest laws.
89-54-E A chancellor may employ as a law clerk the son of an attorney whose law firm employs the son of the chancellor. Cautioned regarding 25-4-101 and 25-4-105(1).
89-61-E The spouse of a Municipal Judge may be elected to and serve as Mayor of the city employing the Judge. Caution: Reappointment of the Judge necessitates recusal by the mayor.
89-98-E 1. A chancellor may not lease his private law office property to a county for use as the court administrator's office when said office was created by an order of the chancellor. It is a violation of 25-4-105(1).
2. A chancellor sell his private law office real property to a third party and thereafter lease the same or part of the same premises for use of himself and the court administrator at the expense of the county.
89-99-E The private law firm of a city judge may not be retained as bond council for the same city. Violation: 25-4-105(3)(a).89-101-E The brother of an incumbent municipal judge may take public office as an alderman for the same municipality. Caution: recusal.

88-107-E 1. The spouse of a city attorney may serve as a municipal judge for the same city.
2. The municipal judge may rent office space to a city prosecutor who practices before the judge.
