Company Background
LawNetCom, Inc. is a Internet publishing company for the
legal profession and public. The company was formed in 1996 by Frank Edens
and Lem Adams of Adams and Edens Law Firm to specialize in developing and
publishing home pages and web sites for Courts, legal associations and
law firms, as well as providing Mississippi legal research materials for
legal professionals. Abbey W. Magruder, III, a Jackson MS native, was hired
from Entergy to manage the company.
LawNetCom has developed sites for the Mississippi Supreme
Court, Mississippi Administrative Office of Courts, The Mississippi Bar,
the Mississippi Public Service Commission and various law firms and law-related
organizations such as The Commercial Law League of America. LawNetCom,
Inc. is also a publisher of legal resources exclusively on the Internet
for serious legal researchers, some of which are available from no other
electronic source either on or off the Interent. LawNetCom, Inc. uses its
famous MSLawSearch
search engine to search all legal resources.
In 1999, a sister company, U.S. Legal Forms, Inc., was spun
off to expand the legal forms publishing side of the business to include
forms from all 50 states. As the combined companies continued to grow and
add personnel, they had to move into additional facilities in Brandon.
Finally, in September of 2002, The companies split, with Frank Edens and
Lem Adams taking U.S. Legal Forms to concentrate on legal forms publishing,
and Abbey Magruder taking LawNetCom to concentrate on websites and legal
research materials. LawNetCom was moved to the Madison-Ridgeland area while
U.S. Legal Forms remained in Brandon.
LawNetCom continues to provide sales and technical support
for the Mississippi legal forms subscriptions now under the U.S. Legal
Forms banner, as well as maintain The Mississippi Lawyers World Wide Web
Domain, known by most people as mslawyer. LawNetCom employs experts from
Colorado, Austraila and the Mississippi Gulf Coast to bring you the most
up to date and innovative services available on the Internet. In addition,
Abbey has been a frequent speaker at various Bar and CLE programs.
